Cariology and Comprehensive Care

Cariology is study of dental caries and the growth of microorganism in oral cavity which produces acid during their metabolism and hence decay the tooth enamel. Globally, approximately 3 billion people have dental caries in their permanent teeth. The World Health Organization estimates that nearly all adults have dental caries at some point in time. In baby teeth it affects about 9% of the population.
